Strikeforce recap: Rousey submits Kaufman in under a minute to retain title

Not many people expected Ronda Rousey to dominate Sarah Kaufman last night at Strikeforce in San Diego, California.  In a Facebook poll, the majority of fans who voted said that the bout would go past the first-round, believing that the Canadian native would “hold her own” against the Olympic Judo medalist Ronda Rousey.
Rousey quickly paced towards Kaufman and unleashed a series of quick jabs and a strong right before locking up with Kaufman at the fence.  Rousey did what she does best as she got the takedown, utilized her magnificent ground game and locked in an arm bar.

Kaufman did a good job to try and defend the arm bar on multiple occasions but ultimately had to tap before getting her arm snapped.

“I’m embarrassed by my performance, but Ronda fought a great fight” said a teary eyed Kaufman in the post-fight interview.

Rousey, who has the world in the palm of her hands called out Cristianne Cyborg Santos and stated “I’m the champion and I don’t go to you, you come to me! Drop down to 135 and let’s do it!”
