Jon Jones vs. Chael Sonnen booked for April 2013 following TUF 17

Can this be true? It appears to be so! The L.A. Times just posted a quote from UFC President Dana White who announced that Jon Jones will battle Chael Sonnen for the UFC light heavyweight crown in April of 2013. The pair will also be opposing coaches on the TUF 17 that airs live on FX.
From the L.A. Times:
“UFC President Dana White told The Times on Tuesday that Jones and Sonnen have been assigned as opposing coaches in the third installment of “The Ultimate Fighter” on FX, creating some extensive pre-fight hype for their April 27 pay-per-view title match at a site to be determined.”
“The Ultimate Fighter” with Jones and Sonnen is set to begin shooting on Oct. 29 in Las Vegas, with a debut in early January as young middleweights participate in a tournament that leads up to an April “TUF” finale at the Vegas Hard Rock Hotel, where the winner will receive a multi-fight UFC contract.”

What a load of shit. Who did Chael blow to keep getting these opportunities, after losing, getting caught cheating, and the fact that he’s guilty of fraud? The guy has no integrity and yet Dana and the UFC keeps handing him whatever he wants.

Actually I do agree with you Melo, I dont know why he deserves the shot BUT I think it may be because of the fact that the UFC needs some better hyped fights going on, as welll ratings for TV with the TUF on FX.
