Montreal’s Patrick Cote dropped a bombshell today. After learning that Alessio Sakara dropped out of their rematch at UFC 158 in Montreal next year, “The Predator” has decided that it is time to make the weight cut and debut in the 170-pound welterweight division.
When we asked Cote how he felt about the weight cut, well.. he didn’t know himself “I don’t know, never did it before!” says Cote.
Cote also stated that he was ready to make his last showing at 185-pounds on March 16, 2013. “I was ready to make my last 185lb fight for the rematch but he pulled out!”
We asked Cote if the UFC has an opponent for him for UFC 158 and he stated that he is ready to make the weight cut for March if the UFC asks him too.
Cote announced the weight drop on his Facebook account and apparently has been battling this decision for over a year.
Welcome to the stacked division Cote!
