It’s going to be welterweight mania on March 16, 2013 as the UFC has just officially announced the three big 170-pound fights for Montreal, Quebec.
Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz will fight in the main-event for the UFC welterweight title. St-Pierre asked for this fight because of some “unfinished business”. Diaz’ camp agreed and it is official for La Belle Province.
In one of the most anticipated rematches of all time, Carlos Condit will battle Rory MacDonald. MacDonald will look to erase the “embarassing” loss to Condit years ago when he was fully winning the fight until a late TKO stoppage in the third-round.
In one of the most exciting fights to look forward too, two of the hardest hitting and fastest striking welterweights Johny Hendricks and Jake Ellenberger will duke it out in front of the Montreal crowd.
Also confirmed for the card is another rematch slated as Patrick Cote will trade punches with Alessio Sakara. Cote won the first fight by DQ as Sakara landed illegal blows to the back of the head.
Tickets will go on sale Jan. 19, 2013. Stay tuned for more details
