Jon W – MMACanada.net was one of the selected media invited to attend the media workout with Jordan Mein at Champion’s Creed Gym in Calgary, Alberta.
The 23-year-old Mein (27-8, fighting out of Lethbridge, Alberta) is coming off an impressive debut win over veteran Dan Miller at UFC 158 in Montreal. With a quick turnaround, Mein will step back into the Octagon at HP Pavilion on April 20 when the UFC returns to San Jose and face Mike “The Immortal” Brown. Mein comes into this fight having won nine of his last 10 fights, and three straight. His only loss was a split decision to Tyron Woodley. The 32-year-old Brown(18-11, fighting out of Columbus, Ohio) has won four straight, most recently defeating Mike Swick via TKO in December.
Both Brown and Mein are finishers, as Brown has finished 14 of his 16 wins, with nine knockouts and five submissions. Mein has amassed an impressive 18 first round finishes in his young career and has 15 knockouts and seven submissions.
