With the loss of UFC 161’s main-event between interim bantamweight champ Renan Barao vs. Eddie Wineland, a heavyweight bout has been added as Roy “Big Country” Nelson will battle Stipe Miocic to add some firepower to the stacked fight card.
Miocic was originally suppose to meet Soa Palelei but UFC president Dana White announced the addition of Roy just earlier today. Palelei will likely serve as a backup in-case of any other injuries.
Nelson who is currently riding a three-fight win streak will look to move closer towards a title shot with a win over Miocic.
Miocic is looking to rebound after his last loss to Stefan Struve back at UFC on Fuel TV 5.
The promotion just announced today that the main-event will feature two former champs as Dan Henderson battles Rashad Evans.
