Edmonton’s Mitch Clarke signs new 4-fight deal with the UFC

Canada’s Mitch Clarke has signed a new 4-fight deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Fresh off his big win at UFC 161 over John Maguire, this is good news for the UFC’s lightweight fighter.

Clarke’s manager Chuck Wichert broke the news just moments ago to us here at MMACanada.net.  “We are very grateful to Joe Silva and the UFC for the offered contract extension/agreement in which we accepted this afternoon.  This is a great boost of confidence for Mitch knowing that the UFC wants to keep him around even after suffering 2 straight losses prior to his 1st UFC win.  Mitch will return to work training both at Hayabusa TC in Edmonton and with Head Coach, John Crouch at The MMA Lab in Glendale, AZ who Mitch credits for taking him to the next level.  There are a lot of people aside from me that have helped contribute to Mitch’s recent success, so this is a reflection of  those who have been around Mitch since the start of this journey and supported him through thick + thin.  As for what’s next for Mitch, its simple…whoever Joe Silva puts in front of him.  What I can tell you Is to expect an even better more hungrier Mitch Clarke!”

There is no word on when his next bout will be but one can speculate that Clarke will return at UFC 165 in Toronto, Ontario in September.  It makes sense right?

“I am in the best shape of my life, I train with some of the best and I have no excuses going into UFC 161” states Clarke to MMACanada.net just two days before his impressive decision victory in front of the Manitoba fans.

Can this be the start of something big for Clarke? Time will tell!
