Charmaine Tweet off of Invicta FC 6 card due to visa issue

One of Canada’s up and coming female MMA fighters Charmaine Tweet has been refused entry into the U.S. to compete on a work visa. Tweet, who was scheduled to battle Ediane Gomes at Invicta FC 6 will sit out and watch instead of competing herself.

Tweet has fought in the United States dozens of times without issue.

Tweet’s camp told us at MMACanada.net: “Invicta sent the visa paperwork in but it didn’t get to the border control in time. We happened to get not a nice person at the border and he wouldn’t budge. Invicta did everything in its power with lawyers and such but it’s a no go.”

Tweet also left a message to her fans via Facebook and was bombarded with tons of messages from unhappy friends and fans who were waiting to see their favorite Canadian fight such a top tier opponent in Ediane Gomes.

Tweet and Gomes may likely fight in September but nothing is official yet.

Final words from Tweet’s camp:

“We have guaranteed our contract with Invicta 100% still and Janet Martin with Invicta has been nothing less then amazing trying to make this work. The two sides will be working to make sure all paper work is 100% correct and sent in to make sure we are a go for invicta 7.

We also wish Ediane the best in her fight Sat night and will be watching from Canada.”
