Jesse Ronson signs with the UFC and debuts on Sept. 21 in Toronto

Canada’s rapid rising star Jesse Ronson has signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championships. Ronson, who made the news public today via his Facebook account will debut in September on the UFC 165 card held in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.
Ronson will step in for the injured Mark Bocek to battle Brazilian Michel “Trator” Prazeres in the undercard portion of the show.

Ronson has blasted his way through tough compeition here in Canada. He ended the undefeated streak of Alex Ricci back at SFS 5 in August of 2012, won a decision over highly regarded Ryan Healy at SFS 7 in Nov. 2012 and comes off a rear-naked-choke submission victory over Shane Campbell at AFC 19 this past July.
Ronson, who fights out of the Adrenaline Training Center in London, Ontario, will look to add some spice into the UFC lightweight division.
The event will be headlined by a pair of title fights, as light-heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones faces Alexander Gustafsson while interim bantamweight champ Renan Pegado meets Eddie Wineland.
