MFC releases Bantamweight Champion Anthony Birchak

Maximum Fighting Championship Owner/President Mark Pavelich announced today that Anthony Birchak has been released from the organization due to the fact he can no longer cross the border from the United States into Canada.

The travel restrictions were applied by American officials due to personal circumstances.

Birchak’s slated title defense against No. 1 contender Jesse Brock has been removed from the MFC 41: All In card, and Brock’s title shot will be rescheduled as soon as possible. That spot on the MFC 41 card, set for Friday, October 3 in Edmonton, Alberta, and live on AXS TV Fights, will be replaced with an announcement forthcoming shortly.

The MFC 41 card will feature the lightweight title matchup pitting champion Tom “Da Tank” Gallicchio against top challenger Marcus “Bad Intentions” Edwards, plus bouts showcasing MFC notables Victor “The Matrix” Valimaki, Andrew “Andrewconda” McInnes, Shane “Shaolin” Campbell, and Jared “The Yeti” McComb.

Tickets for MFC 41 are on sale via www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling the MFC Ticket Hotline at (780) 504-2024.
