Tickets for UFC Fight Night “MacDonald vs. Saffiedine” in Halifax on sale Fri. Aug. 22

Toronto, Canada – The Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) organization makes its highly anticipated debut in Atlantic Canada on Saturday, October 4 at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. UFC FIGHT NIGHT™: MACDONALD vs. SAFFIEDINE will feature a five-round main event pitting two of the best welterweights against one another as second-ranked Rory “Ares” MacDonald (17-2, fighting out of Montreal) takes on ninth-ranked Tarec “The Sponge” Saffiedine (15-3, fighting out of Temecula, CA) in a bout that could determine the division’s next title contender.

MacDonald has won two in a row, defeating the explosive Tyron Woodley via unanimous decision at UFC 174 in June and disposing of veteran Demian Maia in a “Fight of the Night” unanimous decision victory at UFC 170 in February. Saffiedine, the former STRIKEFORCE® welterweight champion, has won five straight including his UFC debut in January against Hyun Gyu Lim in a “Fight of the Night” performance. The winner of the bout could potentially set themselves up as the next frontrunner in the competitive 170-pound division to face current champion Johny Hendricks.

Additional bouts for UFC FIGHT NIGHT™: MACDONALD vs. SAFFIEDINE will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for UFC FIGHT NIGHT™: MACDONALD vs. SAFFIEDINE go on sale Friday, August 22 at 10 a.m. ADT and may be purchased online at http://www.ticketatlantic.com. Ticket prices will be available soon. Ticket sales are limited to eight per person.
