UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and division #1 contender Daniel Cormier appeared earlier today in a disciplinary hearing in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).
Members of the committee reviewed the footage from last month’s brawl inside the MGM casino lobby in Las Vegas, and came to the conclusion to fine both competitors 10 percent of their upcoming purse. Jones is set to make $500,000 for his next fight so he will be on the hook for a whoppin $50k.
On the other hand, Cormier will be fined $9k of his $90,000 payday.
In addition, the NSAC also handed down 40 hours of community service for Jones and 20 hours for Cormier which is expected to be broken up into separate one day appearances for a reputable charity.
Jones has been ordered to serve his community service in Nevada, while Cormier gets to serve it in his hometown of San Jose, California.
