Let’s take a look at some of the accomplished fighters entering the cage at HK 39…

Pro Summary:

Two mixed martial artist titans are set to collide in the professional title match of HK 39. These two fighters are no strangers to the cage, in fact it is more like their second home. Fighting out of the Red Corner in an attempt to earn the welterweight title will be Lithuanian Sergej “El Dorado” Juskevic of Headrush. He is scheduled to enter the cage at HK 39 for the twenty-third time in his professional career with a record of 13-7-2! Juskevic brings a two fight winning streak into HK 39, submitting his previous two opponents in the first round. Of his 13 wins, nine of them have come by way of submission, three by KO/TKO, one decision and two draws. Standing in the way of “El Dorado” and hoping to keep the title at home will be Canadian Joel Powell of Hamilton Muay Thai. He enters HK 39 with a 7-4-0 record. Powell is looking to rebound after a loss earlier this year at WSOF Canada when he was stunned in the first round by a front kick and punch that resulted in a KO. Out of Powell’s seven wins, three were by KO/TKO, two were by submissions and two were decisions in his favour. Fights between two veterans looking to go out on top like this just don’t happen very often, so make plans to attend HK 39 in person or gather around a television somewhere and catch it on PPV!

Hard Knocks Fighting knows how to start a thrilling card of professional fights the honourable way, by allowing ladies to fight first. If you think these ladies do not train for a fight every bit as hard men do, then you are only fooling yourself. Fighting out of Toronto, Ontario is Kara Kirsh with a professional record of 1-1-0. Although Kirsh narrowly lost her last fight by decision just about a year ago, she won her debut fight in 2012 via submission in the third round. Fighting out of Portland, Oregon will be Katie Howard who is no stranger to the cage and will enter HK 39 with a 3-3-0 record. Howard lost her last fight just about a month ago by a second round submission. Of her three wins, two of them were by decision and she submitted one opponent in the second round by rear naked choke. If you have never seen female fighters enter the cage before, tune into this event on pay-per-view or make plans to attend in person because these two fighters are going to prove why they belong in the cage!

Shawn Fitzsimmons from Las Vegas, Nevada enters this event with a 7-10 record, and challenger Tyler “TNT” Jackson is a member of the Revolution Fight Team from Langley, British Colombia with a 9-7-1 record. Jackson began his professional mixed martial arts career around the year 2004 with a first round win. Since this fight is as unpredictable as they come, we recommend getting your ringside tickets in advance because one thing is for certain, this will prove to be an entertaining display of fighting skills and will make for the perfect set-up match to our main event!

Just when you thought the card at HK 39 couldn’t get any better, we knew our fans would like to see who would win a showdown between the “strangler” and the “assassin.” For one night only on November 14, you will have the opportunity to witness who trumps the other in an epic battle between two proven veterans of the cage. Eat, fight, sleep and repeat is how these two mixed martial artists continue to live their lives, after all they do have a combined total of 73 fights in their respective MMA careers! Fighting out of Red Deer, Alberta is Ryan “Sylvan Lake Strangler” Machan with a professional record of 22-9 . Machan has not lost a fight since early in 2013 and brings a four fight winning streak into HK39. He finished his previous three opponents in the first round. Of his 22 wins, seven were by KO/TKO and 15 were by way of submission. Machan trained with Arashi-Do Red Deer for this fight. Fighting out of Edmonton, Alberta will be Marcus “The Loud Mouth Assassin” Hicks, who has been fighting professionally since 2003! Hicks will also be bringing in a four fight winning streak and has an overall record of 20-22. “The Loud Mouth Assassin” knows how to put on a show and finished three of his last four fights in the first round. Hicks has been training with Black Sheep MMA in anticipation of this fight. Finding a weakness in either of these fighters is near impossible and these two are going to do whatever it takes to extend their winning streaks at HK 39. Get your tickets while you can, or make plans to view this event on pay per view!

Jessie Arnett from Calgary, Alberta will meet Adam Imhoff from Helena Montana at HK 39. These two share almost identical records since turning professional and are both looking to extend their winning streaks on November 14th. Given their fight histories, this one is as unpredictable as they come and should make for an exciting display of mixed martial arts!

Amateur Summary:

In the first amateur title fight of the night, we have the privilege of witnessing undefeated mixed martial artist Riley Pequin of Calgary, Alberta face-off against Brent Auger from Grande  Prairie, Alberta. Pequin enters HK 39 with a 1-0 record and Auger has definitely experienced success as an amateur fighter with his record of 3-1-0. These guys both know the game inside and out, so they might stand and trade leather for an entire round or take it to the ground. The only certainty is that neither fighter will take this title shot for granted, so they will bring it all and leave it all in the cage on November 14th!

Over 400 combined pounds of muscle will be entering the cage in the amateur main event featuring the Brandon Academy of MMA’s Kevin Taylor of Brandon, Manitoba with a record of 1-1-0, and Kyle Francotti fighting out of Grande Prairie, Alberta with a record of 4-2-0. Francotti’s victories are all by way of submission and he won his last fight back in May 2014. Taylor will be looking to rebound following an unanimous decision loss back in May of 2013. Since the momentum definitely favours Francotti in this one, Taylor will need to withstand his opponent’s submission attempts early on to stretch this one out into the later rounds. Either way, this will be an epic battle until the final bell!

Get ready for the cage to shake and your seat to rattle in this much anticipated Heavyweight battle! Calgary native Cody “The Grizzly” Clarke will look to put a stop to Estevan, Saskatchewan fighter Felix “The Cat” Jimenez’s three fight winning streak. Stay tuned to see if “The Grizzly” can triumph in front of his home crowd or if “The Cat” can continue his winning ways to a fourth straight victory!

Here is a classic veteran vs. rookie match-up! Elvis Lyon has been fighting since 2000 and enters HK 39 with a 3-3 record. Alex Martinez made his amateur debut back in 2013 and has a record of 2-2. With both fighters being at the opposite ends of their respective careers, this should be one of the most entertaining fights on the entire card!

Miguel Tock looks to continue his winning ways after earning his first victory as an amateur Welterweight in October 2014 and enters HK 39 with a 1-3 record. Grey Patino won his debut fight back in October 2014 too, so one of these fighter’s winning streaks is about to end abruptly at HK 39!

These two Middleweights will be making their amateur debuts on November 14th. Fighting out of Calgary, Alberta is Chris Robinson who trained with Dynamic MMA for HK 39. Standing in his way will be Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan fighter Nathan Bernard from Team Redgoat. These guys are both ready to put on a show and climb the ladder to the top!

HK 39 is going to start like lightning when this pair of Flyweights kick things off on November 14th. These two fighters are both early in their amateur careers which can mean only one thing: they will do whatever it takes to prove themselves to earn a win here! Fighting out of Calgary, Alberta and making his debut as an amateur will be Iain Rushworth. Rushworth trained with PMA Karate to prepare for HK 39. Fighting out of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories will be Jarrett Vornbrock. He trained with Warrior Strong MMA in anticipation of this fight. Vornbrock won his amateur debut back in October 2014 by first round submission.
