UFC 187: Johnson vs. Cormier results

UFC 187 featured two mega title fights as the interim UFC light heavyweight championship was contested between both Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and Daniel Cormier.  Cormier defied the odds and was able to eventually slap on a rear naked choke for the victory and claim the UFC’s interim 205-pound belt.

In the co-main event, undefeated middleweight champion Chris Weidman battled the legend Vitor Belfort.  Weidman proved to be the best at 185lbs when he took the Brazilian down and forced the referee to halt the action due to TKO (strikes)

In other news, Canadian John Makdessi failed to take out Donald Cerrone and move up the ladder.  It was a bone crushing left high kick that broke the jaw of Makdessi forcing an end to the contest.
