UFC 189 results for ‘Mendes vs McGregor’ and ‘MacDonald vs. Lawler’

The results are in for one of the biggest UFC fight cards in recent years.  UFC 189: “Mendes vs. McGregor” took place tonight Sat. night (July 11, 2015) inside MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The event featured two mega main event titles matches as Canadian Rory MacDonald battled Champion Robbie Lawler for the 170-pound strap, and Conor McGregor went toe to toe with Chad Mendes for the vacant featherweight title.

Unfortunately for us Canadians, MacDonald was unable to complete the task and bring home another world title as he was defeated by Lawler at 1:00 of Round 5 via TKO (punches).

The Irishman Conor McGregor delivered a bone crushing straight punch that ended the night for “Money” Mendes, becoming the new UFC interim Featherweight champion, setting up a future date with the injured Jose Aldo.
