Kent vs. Campbell set for Unified 24 Co-Main Event

Heavy-handed big men Mike Kent and Nick Campbell are set to clash at Unified MMA 24, Sept. 25 at the Mirage Banquet Hall in Edmonton.

Kent, a Bowman’s MMA fighter out of Fort McMurray, has four submissions on his resume. Calgary’s Campbell, a Mike Miles Muay Thai and Cardinal MMA fighter, has made two opponents tap in less than five minutes.

But both men are coming to Edmonton for a stand-up affair.

“This is going to be a good battle with lots of striking,” offers Campbell, who will be making his third trip to the Unified MMA cage.

“I’m going to win by TKO or KO. My striking is always improving and now I’ve got a good opponent to test that against. I’m looking forward to it.”

That’s music to Kent’s ears.

“I don’t think that would be the smartest idea,” says Kent, who’s shared the cage with UFC vets like Joe Doerksen, David Loiseau and Elias Theodorou.

“He trains with great guys. Mike Miles is a great coach. He comes from a great team. We trained together before and I’m sure he’s twice the fighter he was.

“But I honestly think if he does that, he’ll be playing right into my game. It’ll be great if that’s how he’s going to fight, because that’s the kind of fight that I want.”

In other ‪#‎UnifiedMMA24‬ action, heavyweight wrecking machine Tanner Boser, a winner in seven of eight pro fights, is set to lock horns with Canadian MMA pioneer Victor Valimaki, a two-time UFC vet with 13 stoppage wins, are also set to lock horns at Unified MMA 24.
