Prestige FC announces broadcast team for pro MMA show in Weyburn

Prestige FC is pleased to announce the broadcast team for its upcoming debut professional mixed martial events and future shows as well.
Rod Pedersen, a hugely popular, longtime fixture in Saskatchewan sports media, has assumed the duties of lead commentator. Rod is the host of CKRM’s Sports Cage, the top-rated sports interview in the province, and has been the voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders for more than 15 years. Rod is only the second radio broadcaster in Canadian history to call the action of both a Grey Cup Game and the Memorial Cup.
In addition to his radio work, his website www.rodpedersen.com has twice earned him the honor of Canada’s Top Sports Blogger. Rod is also a correspondent for Sportsnet Magazine and the author of the book “Green Magic.”

With Prestige FC’s broadcast partnership with The Fight Network, two of the channel’s most colorful personalities are also part of the crew. Due to Rod’s commitment to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Robin Black and John Ramdeen will be calling the action at Prestige FC 1, and they will be part of future shows as well.

Black and Ramdeen are unquestionably two of Canada’s most influential mixed martial arts insiders and are the co-hosts of 5 Rounds Today on The Fight Network (www.fightnetwork.com). Both gentlemen have called the action of numerous combat events, and both were recently part of the CBC contingent at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto covering wrestling, karate, and tae-kwon-do.

“We are very excited to have Rod, Robin, and John as the faces and voices our broadcast team,” said Scott Zerr, Director of Media & Fighter Relations for Prestige FC.

“All three bring unique style plus passion and knowledge of the sport which makes for a first-class broadcast.”

Prestige FC 1 will take place on Saturday, October 24th at the Crescent Point Place in Weyburn, Saskatchewan (pending final approval from the Athletics Commission of Saskatchewan).
