Fighters set to go after Prestige FC Weigh-Ins

All fighters on the main card of Prestige FC 1: Atonement were on target at the official weigh-ins held Friday afternoon.
Prestige FC 1 will take place on Saturday, October 23rd, at Crescent Point Place in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, and is headlined by three-time UFC competitor Mike “Biggie” Rhodes in a catchweight bout against Taki Uluilakepa.
Rhodes (7-4) tipped the scales at 174.8 while Uluilakepa (4-1-1) was 174.4 for their 175-pound matchup.
In the co-main event, former two-time MFC lightweight title contender Kurt “The Hurt” Southern (13-6) had no problems making his debut in the featherweight division as he weighed in at 145.8. His opponent Daniel Swain (14-5-1) needed a second shot at the scale, but after less than an hour, he was in range at 145.6.
A featured women’s bout originally slated for lightweight was moved up to a catchweight of 165 lbs. and both fighters made the grade. Hometown favorite and Invicta FC talent Charmaine “Not So Sweet” Tweet was cleared at 161.2, while Anna “Smiles” Barone stepped off the scale at 164.6. This will be a trilogy fight between the two bitter rivals after Barone won their first encounter and Tweet, the only woman who has fought both Ronda Rousey and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, took the rematch.

NOTE: The previously announced middleweight fight between Michael Hill and Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz was cancelled after the New Brunswick Commission refused to reduce a 60-day suspension handed to Hill following his bout on Oct. 3. Several appeals were made by Prestige FC and Hill but were denied.
