For the first time in his career, one of Canada’s best fighters Tristan “Boondock” Connelly will be fighting “Shaolin” Shane Campbell, a UFC, and WSOF veteran. And not in any fight, but as headliners for the Unified MMA 31 which is slated to take place in June in Edmonton. Bookies like William Hill have already included this fight in their promos, see https://casinopromocodes.org/william-hill-promo-code/.
There, Boondock will have to defend his lightweight title that he earned recently. He knows that Shaolin Shane is going to bring his best, so he intends to bite down and swing him to the fences. It’s expected for this to be a back-and-forth fight, but if Boondock manages to wear Shaolin Shane down and take him out in the 4th or 5th round, he will be bringing his title back home where it belongs, according to him.
At the moment Boondock has three straight victories and 8-5 score. All via finish, and all in a row. His quick knockout victory over Ash Mashregi in the co-main fight of BFL 45 was the highlight of the event. He then went to the Fight Night Medicine Hat 2 in Alberta to defeat Adam Assenza.
His third victory was picked up against Nybakken, which won him the Unified MMA lightweight title. In two months from now he will be defending that same title against Shane. But, before that he will be facing Lenny Wheeler in the Elite 1 MMA: Collision Course in May. This fight is set to be the main event.
“Shaolin” Shane Campbell (11-6) on the other hand will be returning to Unified MMA after taking 5 fights in the UFC. He did well by earning a third-round TKO victory against Jose Rodriquez in Edmonton at Unified MMA 30. This win gave him the shot at the current champion, Tristan “Boondock” Connelly.
Shaolin Shane was glad to earn the shot at the title, and is very excited about the opportunity. He is particularly excited for getting the chance to showcase his skill in his own city and hold it down there. He has a big team behind him, so he’s got to lead by example. According to him, the belt is not Boondock’s. He says that Boondock is only holding to it for him, just another body in the way, and another stepping stone for him.
Edmonton is the place to be in June. Unified MMA 31 will be the event where two of Canada’s finest fighters will be going against one another, but also the event where Garret “Nasty” Nybakken, a former world champion will be returning to action on the card. He will be facing Craig Shintani.
Nasty is looking forward to put his last fight behind him, who up until then had a 5 win streak. He knows that Craig is a strong kid, which is why he thinks the fight will be good for him and show that he won’t be held down by a wrestler again.
