Canadian UFC Bettor Makes $200,000 From Betting Tip

It’s hard to call it an upset when the reigning Champion successfully defends his title, but that’s exactly what many people are calling it as Daniel Cormier defeated Anthony Johnson in last week’s UFC 210 in Buffalo, New York. As a result, one Canadian UFC bettor made $200,000 from an exclusive tip from sports handicapper Curt Presley from Sports Information Traders. It’s far from the first time Sports Information Traders has made headlines, their founder and lead handicapper is none other than the legend Jon Price, who many claim to be the best sports handicapper in the modern era with over 100 million dollars of lifetime winnings.

This fight was a rematch from UFC 187 on May 23, 2015 when Cormier was the underdog, but soundly defeated Johnson by submission in a fight which he controlled for the majority. That fight ended with Cormier landing 23 significant strikes of his 70 total strikes, compared to Johnson’s 23 significant strikes of his total 28 strikes. Cormier also had 3 takedowns to Johnson’s 1, as he controlled the match for 9:39 while Johnson only had control for 0:37. With such a seemingly easy win, it’s funny how most of the experts and the betting public turned against Cormier and once again made him the underdog for the rematch in UFC 210.

The two were supposed to have a rematch at UFC 206, but Cormier had to withdraw from the match with a groin injury. His last win prior to the missed rematch was over Anderson Silva back on July 9 at UFC 200.

Curt Presley has been an expert MMA handicapper for over a decade, and has been identified as the big tipster who provided the $200,000 winning information to the anonymous Canadian bettor prior to the match. His analysis was spot on, as Cormier is a former Olympic wrestler, and Johnson a skilled striker with the power to end a fight with a single blow, but nine times out of ten, technique will conquer power, and that’s exactly what happened.

Many analysts and experts had proclaimed Antony Johnson to be the new up and coming star, and the betting public seemed to agree as Johnson was the odds on favorite at -125 entering the fight on May 23rd in Buffalo, which was exactly what the line finished at before their first matchup in 2015. Curt Presley saw through the bad information and made sure to put his clients, as well as his own personal wager on Cormier for an easy win over Johnson. The fight went pretty much as Presley had planned, with Johnson submitting to Cormier in a rear-naked choke in the second round.

After another headline stealing bet by the team over at Sports Information Traders  they’re quickly becoming the standard for sports handicapping services. One of the biggest UFC wagers in the history of the sport, the $200,000 tip was not wasted by the anonymous Canadian bettor, who says that he’s now looking to double up on his fortune with more of Mr. Presley’s insight, and with those kinds of results it’s easy to see why.
