Conner, the mixed martial arts champ is a charismatic figure, but controversial as well, he loves the spotlight that superstardom gives him. If you think about, there could be no bigger fight, it’s lightning versus fire.

Most of us are caught in the media battle between the two fighters, the spectacular presentations and all the taunting. We know it’s all for show and is part of the build up towards the fight, but who are these two fighters? We’ll give you the basics so you really know who is going to get up in the ring next August 26 in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Let’s start with Mayweather, who is already 40 years old, he was born on February 24 in Grand Rapids Michigan in 1977. He is currently undefeated and is considered by some as the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Mayweather comes from a boxing family as his dad, Floyd Senior, was a pro fighter too, and his uncle Roger was a world champions in his time. Mayweather has been champion in five different categories, but he doesn’t only excel in the ring, he’s also a money making machine that has sold millions of dollars in Pay-Per-View events.

The rival is Conor McGregor, who is a lot younger than Floyd, “The Notorious” is only 29 years old, and that could be an advantage if the fight goes deep in to the last rounds. McGregor was born in Dublin, Ireland and is recognized around the globe as one of the best mixed martial arts fighters of all time, and by far the best one active as of now. He’s the first and only fighter that has been champion at the same time in two divisions at the same time. McGregor is a huge soccer fan, but he chose to kick heads instead, pretty awesome to say the least.

So there you have it, two great but different fighters will go at it in the ring, how will get the win? We’ll have to wait until the big day.
