Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov official for UFC 229 in Las Vegas

Ladies and gentlemen, Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor has officially been booked for UFC 229 on Oct. 6 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The main event lightweight title fight was announced during UFC’s 25th Anniversary press conference (full replay here) earlier today (Fri., Aug. 3, 2018) from inside The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Despite not competing in mixed martial arts (MMA) since his knockout win over Eddie Alvarez back at UFC 205 to claim the 155-pound crown, McGregor is stepping back inside of the Octagon for a massive title fight opposite “Eagle.”

Did you expect anything less from UFC’s PPV king?

The promotion wasted little time putting this superfight together after “Notorious” was cleared to return to competition late last month. Remember, McGregor was facing felony charges for attacking a bus that Khabib was on this past April in Brooklyn.

Considering the bad blood between McGregor and Nurmagomedov, their UFC 229 clash projects to be one of the biggest fights in UFC history. Undefeated at 26-0, Khabib is undoubtedly the most difficult opponent McGregor has ever faced, especially consideirng the Russian champion does most of his damage on the ground.

Only time will if McGregor’s left hand can starch the competition yet again, and in this case put the stamp on the biggest rivalry in the sport today.
