Dana White admits to engaging in talks to promote Tom Cruise vs. Justin Bieber

A bout between Tom Cruise and Justin Bieber in the UFC sounds crazy, right?

UFC president Dana White admits it’s a crazy idea, too – so crazy he loves it.

As a guest speaker at Hashtag Sports 2019 on Thursday, White confirmed TMZ’s previous report that he engaged in talks about potentially promoting the bout.

“I should have known this was going to be the first question,” White laughed when he was asked in the opening few seconds of the Q&A. “Listen, if I can make that fight, I’d be all over that fight. It’d be the biggest pay-per-view in the history of pay-per-view.”

When moderator Jason Gay asked White if it was true he was seriously contacted about putting the bout together, White confessed.

“It is true,” White said. “As crazy as that sounds, that is true. … I don’t want to use any names, but I was at home on a Sunday, and I got a call with two big guys on the phone. They were telling me this could possibly happen and this could be real. I’m like, there’s no way that this is really going to happen. But if it does, call me back. I’m in.”

To say the least, White believes the money involved in a fight like Cruise vs. Beiber would be enormous, which is why he loves the idea.

“Oh my god, it would be massive,” White said. “It would be massive. Everybody laughed when we talked about this, so you’ve heard of it. Who wouldn’t watch that? Everybody would watch it. It’s a complete train wreck, and I love it, and I’m in. I’m in. …

“I can’t even believe this is what we’re talking about right now.”

Earlier this month, the buzz surrounding an MMA bout between Cruise and Bieber engulfed social media after the latter called out the former on Twitter.

Since that time, Bieber said the tweet was just a joke, and he would probably lose to Cruise if the two ever fought.
