Robert Guertin Arena for HCF "Crows Nest".
To start the night off the event promoters of Hardcore Championship Fighting introduced an
educational video for the fans about Mixed Martial Arts.
The Preliminary bouts start off with ..
Antonio Schembri vs Daniel Grandmaison.
Round 1
Grandmaison comes out charging with a flurry of punches. Both fighters instantly clinch. Schembri delivers a knee and Grandmaison takes the blow but brings him right to the floor, however Schembri quickly reverses and takes top position. Grandmaison returns the favor and manages to get on top of Schembri and rains down some bombs. Both fighters return to their feet and trade blows. Schembri impressively gets behind Grandmaison and holds him for a few seconds. Grandmaison gets back on top as he slams him to the ground. Works in full guard but the Brazilian star is able to secure a fight ending armbar that forces Grandmaison to tap out at 2:37 of the first round.
The crowd gives a huge ovation as Nabil Khatib walks through the crowd. Big cheers for the hometown fighter out of Ottawa Ontario.
Rodrigo Ruas vs Marcus Vinicios
Round 1
Marcus lands a nice straight punch and rocks Rodrigo. They clinch against the fence. They continue to dance around the cage then a nice knee delivered by Marcus. Inside kick by Rodrigo. Rodrigo successfully takes Marcus to the ground and is in half guard. Back to full guard as Rodrigo lands a few hammer fists. Rodrigo tries for an ankle lock but Marcus is able to reverse that and grabs a hold of Rodrigo’s ankle. The fans go crazy. Both fighters return to their feet and
Marcus lands a knee to the chest followed by a takedown. They are back to their feet yet again. 10 seconds left in the round and Rodrigo takes Marcus right back to the canvas. Bell rings to halt the action.
Round 2
High kick by Marcus. Low kick and a right hook by Rodrigo. They tie up against the fence and Rodrigo is able to bring Marcus right down to the canvas and works in butterfly guard. Arm bar attempt by Marcus but Rodrigo is able to defend. Both fighters return to their feet. Rodrigo takes it back to the floor and works in side guard. Not to much action going on at the moment. Rodrigo continues to work from half guard. Rodrigo eventually gets Marcus’ back and tries for the rear naked choke but miscalculates and actually slides underneath Marcus. Marcus tries to capitalize by throwing some bombs. They get back to their feet and the bell sounds to end the round.
Round 3
Fighters come out and circle each other. Marcus lands a few nice straight punches but gets taken down by Rodrigo. Rodrigo works in side mount and starts dominating. The ref comes in to halt the action at 0:52 seconds via tapout.
Myles Merola vs Jameel Massouh
Round 1
High kick by Myles to open up the round. Massouh catches Myles in a chokehold and won’t let go. Myles works through the choke and throws a punch down on Massouh. Myles continues to drop some elbows and punish Massouh. Back and forth action on the ground for most of the round. Massouh lays on top of Myles and the bell rings to end the round
Round 2
Myles starts off the round by giving a textbook perfect superman punch and takes Massouh to the ground. Myles continues to punch away on Massouh from top position. Both fighters remain active on the ground. Massouh is able to reverse position and gets the side mount. Myles impressively picks up Massouh and slams him to the matt. The Quebec crowd goes WILD! Myles lands another shot and tries to mount Massouh. The bell rings to end the round
Round 3
Both fighters come out and start swinging for the fences. Both fighters fall to the ground and Myles gets trapped in a knee bar but refuses to tap out. He eventually gets loose. Myles now on top of Massouh landing body shots. It appears as if Massouh is gaining his composure and gets the back of Myles Merola who is now stuck in a rear naked choke. Massouh takes the back and lands punches but the bell rings to end the round.
Judges score the bout 29-27 in favor of Jameel Massouh
Bill Boland vs Michal Hamrsmid
Round 1
Both fighters come out and land a series of punches on one another. The fight remains the same for the entire round with the exception of a takedown by Boland. Great first round.
Round 2
Boland is able to take Hamrsmid to the ground and work for full mount which then he took the back of Hamrsmid. Boland works on him and lands some nice punches to the head of the Croation. Referee Philippe Chartier stops the fight at 2:59.

Andrew Buckland vs Dan Hornbuckle
Round 1
Fierce staredown by both fighters. They both come out and trade punches. Buckland takes Dan to the ground and lands some punches. Back and forth action. Big kick by Dan Hornbuckle that just nearly misses Buckland. Both fighters take this fight to the ground and Hornbuckle manages to slap on a fight ending armbar that forces Buckland to tap out at 3:34
Brent Beauparlant vs Amir Rahnavardi
Round 1
Amir gives a knee but gets taken down right away with Brent in his full guard. Brent hits him with some nice shots but Amir is able to eat them and deliver a few of his own from the bottom. Brent gives a devastating suplex that made the crowd go wild. Brent works to half guard and rains down some bombs. Brent continues to control the pace of this fight and has Amir up against the cage. Bell rings to end the first round.
Round 2
Both fighter’s trade blows and Brent immediately takes Amir back to the canvas. Both remain active on the ground. Brent is impressive as he controls the action. Midway through the round he picks Amir up over his head and slams him to the ground, great action so far. Brent is very dominant in this round and continues to put the pressure.
Round 3
Pretty much the same action as the first and second round. Brent controlling the entire round with takedowns and blows. Amir remains active while in guard. Amir shows great heart as he tries for any submission attempt. Brent lays on top and controls the round by giving a few blows to the body. Bell rings to halt the action
Brent Beauparlant wins by decision
Nabil Khatib vs Gideon Ray
UFC veteran Gideon Ray enters the octagon. The crowd goes wild as they see their hometown hero Nabil Khatib making his way to the cage. Nabil is cornered by none other then Patrick "The Predator" Cote.
Round 1
Fighters circle around and size each other up. Gideon just barely misses Nabil with a head kick. Both fighters trading shots, Nabil hits the floor with Gideon on top pounding away on the Ottawa Ontario native. Gideon is now in Nabil’s guard. Minimal action as the crowd boos. Fighters are forced to get back to their feet. Both fighters very active as Nabil dives in and takes Gideon to the ground. Both fighters get right back to their feet. Nabil lands a nice kick. Moments later a big knee delivered by Gideon. Nabil steps back and regains his composure. Very action packed first round and the fans are going crazy! Gideon takes Nabil back to the ground just as the bell sounds to stop the action.
Round 2
Second round begins with both fighters cautiously trading blows. Nabil takes Gideon to the ground and passes to side mount. Nabil is in total control of the round and punishes the UFC veteran. Gideon gets a few nice shots in from the ground.
Round 3
Both fighters come out trading blows again. Each of them landing kicks to the body. The action remains the same throughout the fight, each fighter trading shots. Gideon delivers a head kick but that is blocked by Nabil. Nabil answers back with a straight jab then an impressive head kick that softly lands on the chin of Gideon Ray. Nabil is able to take Gideon down to the ground again and starts unleashing a few elbows. Nabil gets the mount position but Gideon keeps calm and blocks his shots. Gideon gets back to his feet and this time Gideon takes Nabil down to the canvas. Bell soundsto end the round! Both fighters shake hands. The crowd is on their feet cheering for Nabil.

Rob MacDonald vs Hector Ramirez
Round 1
Rob MacDonald, the Toronto police officer is put to the test by facing his most difficult task to date by going toe to toe with UFC veteran Hector Ramirez. Both fighters start off the round by trading some serious blows. MacDonald gets opened up with a deep cut and blood is pouring out. The ref calls for a time out. The doctors check the cut and give him the OK. The action contunes as Hector then takes MacDonald to the ground and continues to dominate the round.
Round 2
Both fighters start out just like the first round with heavy shots. MacDonald delivers a nice kick. They continue to trade shots. MacDonald comes in with a flurry of punches that daze the California native but Hector weathers the storm and stalks MacDonald around the cage. Great action packed fight so far. Both fighters continue to beat each other and in the last few seconds of the round Hector forces a takedown just as the bell sounds.
Round 3
Both fighters come out throwing jabs. They circle and choose their shots. Hector takes MacDonald to the ground and is in his guard. Hector stands up and delivers leg kicks while rob defends from the ground. They are forced to stand up. They immediately clinch and MacDonald shows some good wrestling skills by taking Hector right to the canvas. Hector is able to work through the takedown and get on top of MacDonald. Hector lands some punches then quickly moves to side control. MacDonald defends the shots. Hector trying for a kimura but fails. MacDonald blocks more shots while Hector stays active in side control. The round ends with Hector still on top.

Sarah Kaufmann vs Molly Helsel
Women’s Lightweight Championship
Round 1
The women mean business!! Molly rushes in and throws some quick punches but Sarah quickly grabs a hold of Molly’s head and lands a big knee to the chest. Aggressive opening seconds to the fight as both fighters flurrying each other with jabs and crosses. WOW these ladies do not stop!! Sarah is able to press Molly up against the cage and lands some more knees. Both fighters remain in the clinch and trade shots. Sarah just unleashes a barrage of punches and is trying to finish the fight. Both fighters remain clinched and trading shots. Sarah takes Molly to the ground and works in her open guard. Sarah gets up quickly and stalks her prey. They clinch against the fence again. Molly lands a nice jab as Sarah returns the favor by landing a nice uppercut. The ref looks like he is about to stop the fight but Molly is able to defend and the bell rings to end the round.
Round 2
Both fighters are pushing the tempo. Sarah is vicious with her attacks. Molly is covering up but also letting go herself. Both fighters are letting it all out in the cage. Sarah is barraging Molly with a flurry and the ref halts the action. Molly is very upset with the call and Sarah is jumping in excitement that she is now 7-0 in her pro MMA career. Sarah remains the HCF women’s lightweight champ.
David Loiseau vs Todd Gouwenberg
This is the main event of the evening. At one point in time, David “The Crow” Loiseau was the #1 contender for the UFC middleweight title. After a few disappointing losses, Loiseau is determined to get back in the win column with a defeat over Todd Gouwenberg. Both fighters make their way to the cage as the crowd cheers for Loiseau.
Round 1
Both fighters cautiously circle each other. Loiseau gives a nice hook that connects. They both clinch and trade knees against the fence. Todd delivers knees to the stomach of Loiseau. Loiseau is still pressed up against the cage. Very minimal action at this point. Loiseau suddenly ducks under and scoops up Todd and slams him hard to the matt. At this point the crowd goes wild. There is little ground and pound by Loiseau. Crowd continues to cheer for Loiseau as he lands a few shots to the body. With 10 seconds remaining in the round, the referee looks like he is about to stop the action as Loiseau furiously lands some serious head punches. The bell sounds to end the round. The fans are on the edge of their seats!
Round 2
Loiseau opens up the round with a jumping kick! Now this is what the fans are expecting from Loiseau! More body kicks by Loiseau. Todd is able to press Loiseau up against the cage and Loiseau reverses the hold and takes Todd to the matt. Little action so far while on the ground. Todd hangs on in the guard. Loiseau lands elbow after elbow while in the guard. Loiseau controls the whole fight while on the ground. Brutal ground and pound by Loiseau. The crowd is cherring for the Montreal native but the bell sounds to end the second round
Round 3
Loiseau looks determined to finish this fight as he looks at the crowd and gives that look of determination. The fans go crazy! Loiseau quickly runs at Todd with a jumping elbow. Impressive opener for Loiseau. Leg kicks by Loiseau. We are now seeing a very aggressive Loiseau in this round. Loiseau continues to kick the leg of Todd Gouwenberg. Todd then decides to go in for the attack but is quickly taken down. This is not going well for Todd as he is now stuck on the ground with Loiseau on top of him. The fans cheer for their hometown hero as Loiseau lands a few more body shots while in guard. Loiseau continues to punish Todd by landing more vicious elbows. Loiseau completely dominates the. Todd continues to defend but time is running out as Loiseau continues to remain active. The bell sounds for the end of the round signifying the return of David Loiseau!!
Judges score this bout in favor of David Loiseau
Keith Crawford enters the cage and talks with Loiseau. Loiseau explains that “The Crow” is back and ready to make a big impact in this great organization. He also states that his mind hasn’t been on track since his loss to Rich Franklin and to make no mistake about it, HE IS BACK! This win over Todd Gouwenberg boosts his confidence as we are all looking forward to see what is next for David Loiseau!
