TKO 30 was the most action packed fight card I have ever seen ( I have seen about 12, including gthe UCC days in small areans). With UFC style lighting effects and every detail organized to make every introduction seamless and climatic.
Samuel Guillet takes the arm bar and gains victory over Yves Lemelin at 2:32 of the first round. The tap was at the bell, the camera replay was required to ensure that there was indeed a tap in time.
Marcus Celestin started the fight leading with a flurry of jabs on Dan Chambers. The middle-weight’s traded shots before Celestin eventually took Chambers to the ground. Celestin took side control and worked towards the mount however the bell broke the advantage over Chambers and took them into the 2nd round. This time Chambers took initiative striking relentlessly with punches which caused Celestin to cover up with both hands. Fatigue kicked in as Celestin was clearly out classes by Chambers, the 2nd round was entirely Chambers, and enough for the ref to call it.
These two rolled for a while displaying great BJJ on both sides, a precisely laid arm bar ended the fight at 4:16 of the first round. Justin Tavernini takes the win of the brawl against Syd Barnier, these This concluded the featherweight match.
TJ Grant secured this match by securing a carefully planned ankle-lock at 2:33 of the first round over the monstrous Stephane Dube. Dube a crowd favorite was over-whelmed by the relentless attack by Grant, who dominated the entire fight.
In typical “machine” fashion, Mark Hominick delivered direct punches the face of Ben Greer. Greer is outmatched in this one and gets dropped like a sack of potatoes with a punch to the face at 1:14 of round one. Shawn Tompkins cornered his star and was nice enough to grant MMACANADA.NET the exclusive right to get a quick shot ring side after the win. Hominick also made a point of pointing at our camera prior to having his hand lifted.
Chris Clements stepped up to Jesse Bongfeldt over powering him with rock hard strikes to the body and face. Some how Bongfeldt manages to weather the blows as he survives the first round. Round two starts off the same way however Bongfeldt managed to trip Clements and then attempt to choke him out. Clement fights for his life but to no avail as his energy is sucked right out of him by the rear naked choke. A few seconds into it and his arm drops as he lost consciousness. The Ref rushed in and pulled the two apart. Clements is pulled to his feet shortly afterwards but not without losing this match.
In the much-anticipated “brawl of the bullies” these two fighters needed security to keep them apart every second leading up to the fight. Jody Burke smiles as he walked into the ring. Steve Bosse who was cornered by UFC fighter Patrick Cote, walked with confidence. Burke’s smile soon vanished as he was dominated in the stand up attack and then rushed to the ground with a non-stop barrage of punches to the head, clearly out-classeed by Bosse , Burke remained in the turtle position for a few minutes as the Ref knew this one was over at about midway into the first round, the fight was called by Burke tapping out. Steve Bosse secures another victory, in decisive manner – he is certainly a fighter to watch for.
The evening’s main event was similar to the Fisher Vs. Stout fight. A stand up fistfight by two stand up power punchers.
The introduction to this fight was a top caliber show of lights & fire, ending with military swat guys dropping from the ceiling of the bell center. The crowd was electric as home town favorite Martin Grandmont entered the ring. Seconds later Sam Stout makes his appearance. These two stare down and get ready for the bell.
The fight started with Grandmont riding the crowd cheers as every body was standing-up from the ring of the first round bell. Grandmont started very strong dominating Stout in a stand up war, the crowd was going crazy as Grandmont delivered punch after punch to Stout’s face, opening up a few cuts on Stout – he was badly damaged very quickly but kept composure answered with a few good shots of his own while waiting for his opportunity to counter. These two slugged it out with no intention to take in to the ground, Grandmont was growing with confidence as he continued to dominate the stand up war. Stout had a decent size cut under his left eye and Grandmont focused clearly on it, after Grandmont landed a right cross, Stout answered back with an over hand right of his own than landed beautifully and put Grandmont to bed. Grandmont hit the ground for a quick nap and Stout remained the champion mid-way through the first round.. Grandmont awoke soon after with a confused look on his face – The HAMMER felt the wrath of THE HANDS OF STONE, not to take anything away from Grandmont – he had a great fight. Once again Shawn Tompkins was successful with his fighter, and granted MMACANADA.NET a few shots.
