The Maximum Fighting Championship today revealed that MFC lightweight champion Antonio McKee has been stripped of his championship belt and released from his contract following the Friday night main-event.

The MFC released this official statement via its Twitter account.

The MFC has been named one of Canada's top MMA promotions.

McKee weighed in seven pounds overweight at today's weigh in.  The bout is scheduled to continue, but it was reported that McKee will be stripped of the belt and released after his fight with Brian Cobb.  The bout will instead be a three-round fight.
